St George's Bellringers

St George's Bellringers meet every Thursday evening.  Learners at 19.00 and general ringing is at 19.30 to 20.30.  All the band are members of the Sussex County Association of Change Bell Ringers. (SCACR)  


We ring every Sunday morning from 08.45am to 09.30  Visiting ringers are extremely welcome.


Everyone (Over 12's or at the Tower Captains discretion) is welcome to come and try bell ringing.  Our youngest ringer is 11 and we have ringers over pensionable age!  Its never too late to learn!  Contact our Tower Captain Julie McDonnell for more details.


Our President is Fr Martin Harper and our Chairman is Mr Andrew Burchett.  Andrew recently retired as Tower Captain and continues to be a valued member of our band.


Recently we had a drive to recruit more bell ringers for the "Ringing Remembers" campaign and we are proud to say we recuited 6 new members.  Please join us!


We are pleased to offer the opportunity of a "Quarter Peal" to be rung for special anniversaries, birthdays or to remember your loved ones.. A Quarter Peal is when the bells ring for 45 mins to a method (Tune) by skilled bell ringers.  The cost for this unique gift or memorial is £75 or  £85 withh a framed, signed certificate and publication in the "RInging World"  Contact our Tower Captatin Julie McDonnell for further details.  All monies raised will go 50% to the St George's bell fund for the upkeep of our bells and 50% to St Georges and its general upkeep.
